To the miracle of Rio de Janeiro
For the newest rack railway in Brazil - Rio de Janeiro, the pantographs from Richard AG provide the right power connection. The older third generation trams from 1976 were replaced.
Strong and robust
During heavy iron ore transport from São Paulo to the port city in Santos, the pantographs of Richard AG supply the gearwheel locomotive with electricity. The gear motors are fed with 3000 VDC via two pantographs with three contact strips each and achieve an output of 5000 kW and 700 kN starting tractive effort.
Special solutions
The RM616 sliding platform, which we developed in collaboration with Stadler Rail, is a custom-made product for the SZU (Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg). The pantograph can be moved pneumatically on the sled by 1.3 meters and enables automatic voltage and system selection.
